she's been called names. puss in boots, CB cat, etc...
no one likes her. "how about putting her to sleep?" came one suggestion.

perhaps there is a reason for all this. like why her fur is dropping. maybe her unfriendliness is linked medically. so now, i am convicted to find out whats wrong with her.

i wished i could join them in their dance, their freedom dance. its as if they were oblivious about the people around them, staring, as they ran around the fountain. jets of water bursting periodically, monotonously. i got bored after awhile. how could they run around non-stop? i wish i have their energy, their boldness to do whatever they please whenever they please.

i had a vision for a moment.

i imagined that i was with them, not as a child but in my adult body, running around with nothing more than my speedos, screaming, jumping, enjoying.

come to think of it now, its a rather disturbing thought.

now, i see why i didnt people didnt want to grow up.

i finally nail down the date for the europe trip. picked up the tickets today. the trip was postpone as i had to stay for an important interview- one that might give me a fellowship award.

its been a crazy month. a shoot for a book, a website to maintain and now i have to worry about what i should be shooting half way around the world if they do pick me to go. it has made me cry out to GOD more often. i need help! not that i don't know how to get things done. more like, how do i get it done best.

to date, jo jo's pictures has got 27 views, the most viewed picture on my flickr. ha ha.

my mind is really scattered now. ideas are coming up and i know i should put it down quick before they disappear into nothingness. for one, i know that i want to do something really big, something really crazy, something that will make me look back and think that whatever i have done on singaporeuniquely.com is nothing really too great.

now that the website is up and running, i just can't wait to fill it up with goodies.

i just put this picture of jo i shot on flickr to see how many hits it will get. well, she's been complaining that i havent been updating my blog. so here i am presenting jo! she certainly dont look like an auntie. i wanted at get her to look auntie since i have this project with xindi on shooting singapore fashion. i know all the uncles will queue up to look at this. right jo? ha.

anyways, its been a good project. more will come up. i have suddenly become patriotic or something. or maybe it has always been inside me and something triggered this need to tell the world about who we are. i dont want to be known as the guy who comes from the country who has cute flight attendants in their natinoal airline when i visit some ulu part of europe. and i dont like to hear this "which part of china is singapore again" nonsense.

anyways, its my need to answer how unique singapore is when the singapore tourism board came up with their uniquely singapore campaign. i set out to answer that and that was how singaporeuniquely.com came to being.

i have to say that my love for my country has grown everytime i travel. there is more to come. watch out singapore!

its been a very interesting week.

first, someone called asking to me to photograph a family portrait. it turned out that the father was dying and wished that they would have a family portrait together. so i shot them at the hospital bed.

the day before that i had a wonderful lunch at a celebrity chef's home. how cool is that? the perks of my job. the best is still shooting the queen of england and getting away with it.

lost in translation

here i am siting in a internet cafe in akihabara, somewhat lost, relearning how to use the internet browser, pardon my punctuations, i simply cant find them on this japanese keyboard. everything on screen is in japanese too. free internet, cute jap girls at the service counter, hot coffee and crispy chocolate croissant, what else could i ask for?

with temperatures reaching near subzero at times, i have to say that i kind of miss the weather in singapore. it wont be long till i get home. came here and got my stuff done. bought all the goodies and ready to party the rest of the week away with old friends. dont know how japs take surprises though. no one knows i am here. ha

till then, i will have to rely on chicken and duck talk to get around whenever martin has wander off somewhere...

i am beginning to understand the japanese culture alittle bit more. i might just come back again quite soon. there is a nice little story i like to tell.

new year new hope

13 days past and finally i got time to reflect. only 2 weeks have past and i already have many things to look forward to this new year. new projects, travels and plans for the future.

got to start looking for the zhng car people. thanks to jojo, things are moving with the zhng car project. there is just too many amazing cars out there. i can't wait to see this zhng city cab.

i havent seen my mum for more than a month. the phone rang, its mum. she wishes me happy birthday.

i must have been 5 when this photo was taken. it was then that i shouted at mum, always questioning her why other mum does nice things for their kids and she doesn't. likewise, she would ask why i wasn't as smart as those kids- never coming in tops in class. i grew up always feeling i wasn't loved. the truth is mum always showered me with love, she just did not make a big fuss out of it.

no one remembers my birthday year after year.

with the new oven and new baking gear, all i need now is a good baking book and time for adventure in the world of cookies and cakes.

i am all happy now with this new hobby, along with my cycling- finally found a good pair of cycling shoes. thanks to mak. with the new year round the corner, i just can't wait for it to start.

just a week ago, i had a feeling that time is running out. it felt like the world is coming to an end. and now, i just can't wait for it to end so that the new year would bring many new hopes and dreams.

new year resolutions? someone whom i have never met called just to make some talk asked me. i said i have none, i live for the moment. and of course i was lying.

2006 is the year i will get my driver's license!
video girl will be back and that will put alot of things back into perspective. perhaps i will get to learn how to ski since Q has been pestering to go to melbourne to join him for a ski holiday. i shall make my first short film and become more involve in the arts scene again since i have been busy making money this year. well, if all is well, i might even get a car!

ha.

for now, i am just happy that everything is in place at home. more parties coming up real soon.

i really need to exercise. good news is i have come to realise that exercise gives me the strength that i have been missing all this while. its been keeping me up. not bad, got alot of things done.

i thank GOD that i am alive.

i could have ended up in the hospital tonight for getting jigawatts of power run through my veins. i had put some laundry into the washing machine and gone into the room to catch CSI miami.

i had an impression that my phone rang, so i came into the living room. it did not ring but there was knocking at the door. boi and april finally got here.

the living room was flooded.

the water came from the washing machine water outlet which was not fixed properly after i have shifted it a couple of nights ago.

the water almost reached the extension cables on the floor. had boi and april come any later, i could have needed to buy another computer. worst, i could have ended up killing myself with the leftover water from the laundry.

thank GOD i am alive.

the couple came for coffee and i offered them to mop the floor. how terrible a friend i am.

i have myself to blame for drinking too much tea for the whole of yesterday. i stayed up till 5 this morning, only then did my heart slow down a little so i could put my head to rest.

9am, call comes in from a client, returning a call i have made yesterday. done. can't sleep anymore. so i decided i got to have my stomach's fill. viola! nice breakfast on the balcony dining table, stacey kent crooning in the background, i wish bebe was here.
