i forgotten the time i could relak in the morning and take my time to get things done, enjoy my day, coffee and spend hours talking to friends over coffee. this week was quite crazy. so i looked forward to lunch. i wanted something nice. something to reward myself. '
so i walked into this new place down at a popular gaming centre in katong. when asked for recommendation, the waitress showed me me the menu and pointed to the dishes with pictures. i thought, ok. i think i will just think about it on my own since she gave no real recommendation.
fettucine with chicken green curry. cool. so i ordered that. this woman who took the other didnt wear a uniform like other servers. she must be the owner i thought. well then, she must be a very happy owner then.
the food was lousy. what was i thinking? fettucine with green curry?
so when this other waitress cleared the table, she asked if i like the food. i said not really that good. and she said that its inevitable, the cafe is quite new. and so i thought to myself, are all the people including the chefs new? so new that the service is crap, the food suck.
i got my change back. yet another waitress return with it. she came to me with a dollar and asked if i had 20 cents. she went on to explain that they havent any change. this had never happen before in my dinning out experiences. and TYM, the food at cafe cartel is still better, the servers at least not as clueless.
i gave the waitress 20cents. i wanted my change back.
for once i understood why the americans tip. this 10% service thing just don't work for me. there is usually bad service here.
in some ways, this cafe is very much like singapore.
expensive, bad service, fusion everything, strict boss and the servers working for the boss are clueless.
i love this country more everytime i come back from somewhere else though. what could it be that i dont like?
as i left the cafe, walking down katong, i see something which made think again. would this scene look different if IMF meetings were held in katong? would they have budded sunflowers? i certainly hope not though. weird tree it would have turn out. the city hall area is like a fort. how could the delegates enjoy the art up in the biennale if there was so much fortification, so much security fusses. or do they just forget about going to the biennale all together??
so i come home to mum's and remember what i think i treasure most. family. dad just came back all excited about his new purchase. its for titus. he got even more excited when he pull out the toy from the box. for a while, he really couldnt stop talking about how this toy car spit red light as it moves. he really look kiddy at that moment. and
with all that excitement put aside, i sat down for dinner. now, i know what i missed. mee siam with hem. nope, i did not tell mum about mr brown or PM lee. i doubt she is informed about them too. so i just enjoyed my mee siam. want some?

i just cant control her
this pussy cat is just weird. i just cant control her. she bites when she loves you. she licks you when she feels nice. i just cant control it when i blow up at her too. maybe i do have some little monster of anger inside of me. its just there waiting for something or someone to press the wrong button. that is why i feel so bad now having said things i did not mean to say.

that did it. i dont know why but i went out of control. i must have said something harsh after that. thats why i am regretting now. what could the trigger be? was it because it was way pass bedtime and i just got a bit cranky and decided to let it go or was it really as bebe said- i am too sensitive and fragile. aaaaaaaaaaaaah. oh no.
well, i dont know. GOD, please help me with this. i also want a new implant to fill my tooth that got extracted. maybe He could make one grow. like how mao got super bright eyes that looks like it can shoot laser.

if it not for IMF, we won't have all the constructions in the city all done and cleared up, cleaned up and beautified. now, i have to say that my personal favourite is the sunflowers outside the National Museum.
I wouldnt have recognise this, if i didnt see it for myself. I heard about it from friends working there and i knew i had to go see it. if someone put a sign and said its part of the singapore biennale, i would have felt for that.
sure, i belief.

weekend in the west
titus has grown again. i see what people mean by they grow up so quickly. well, in no time, he would be needing bigger flip flops. "uncle beng, what you shooting? i want to see." i am sure the kid is going to get quite confusing in time. the dad tells him i am uncle ming, the grandma says uncle beng. yup, grandma's confuse too, she calls me ming and she tells her grandson to call me by my other name.
so ultra kid turn out to be not so ultra when i warned him not to stick the clothes hanger into the fan. dont quite remember raising my voice that loud. "eh lousy de" mum exclaimed while calming titus down, explaining to him that uncle meant good and not scolding him. when he had turn his back on me and decided not to friend me for a few moments.
this is where mums know best.
"orh la, orh la, ok la, dont cry, uncle beng bring you kai kai ok?"
looking out at his favourite playground instantenously calm titus down.
that same spot where this rubbery child friendly playground is used to be the playground i grew chasing other kids, play marbles. i was quite happy whenever i win some marbles and money. winning 20cents from your opponent was a big deal to me then. ha. that was the same playground that i met eva. ha.
and look how much she has grown and how beautiful she has turn out to be. i always wondered what she meant by how she would bite people she loves.this new camera is just so cool. its fun. makes me love my bebe even more now.
when this kid was back in action in not time. he wasted no time, forgotten he cried and friend me again. it helps that he has lots of energy to dispense, running from one end of the coffee shop to another, making funny sounds, making his presence felt.

so what else have i been up to besides...
whatssssup?
apart from getting a new toy, the samsung NV10, and shooting pictures of my girls, i have been...
1. plotting to make a photography revolution through my crazy ideas.
2. spending money to make a photography revolution.
3. thinking how else i can make money by buying land in some ulu place in canada.
4. chasing people to pay up so i may buy land in some ulu place in canada so i can make a photography revolution.
5. cleaning up my office so i can think better and work better and so i can chase people for money faster.
6. finding time to clean up my office.
7. shooting alot and finishing up my work so i can find time to clean up my office.
8. shooting alot of funny art works at the singapore biennale before they disappear and can only be seen 2 years later again.
9. thinking about what i should do in 2 years time, like buying a house, or maybe finally have money to buy land in some ulu part of cananda.
10. thinking about what a house will be like if i get to live with my bebe for a long long long long long time.

mingmingjiushi: its not time yet, she won't like it, it probably not a good surprise for her.
and she went on to tell me how she hasn't been working since her boss is not in the office
and she isn't working since she is thinking about things that need to get done for her wedding
after dinner on the way home, darren went "so when are you and eva getting married?"
"huh?"
so funny, 2 questions in 1 day. people are proposing that i propose? its a matter of time now.
but when? its no secret now, i obviously can't propose at ally+co's wedding now can i?
i think darren will get married first.
need money for ring he says. and i thought "wow, already suffe-ring"
cool, i get to buy jade and not diamond. ooh hoo!

My week in 6 pictures
So just the other day, i got myself a new toy.
so i pull it out to get a shot of bebe and she gave me this look "what is this thing you are holding?"
"erm, a new toy?"
i smiled.
bebe just had this look on her face
so at dinner, i shot my cutsy crispy bread.
we brought our new dutch friend to the mint cafe.
and, ya, we went dutch.
and i shot nia nia again. sweet.
and when i showed her this shot i shot in the camera a day before, she asked why she was under mao mao.
so i had to shoot this shot again. :j

how blissful is this, two girls of my life in perfect harmony in one picture. lovely! this is just so perfect i got to have it documented. its really been a while since i had time to blog, reflect, think about life in a relaxed mode.
well, its not like work have gotten so busy. i just love heading out more now. less time in the office, less time indoors, less time on the computer and more time on the psp. after all, i am enjoying the company of the girls.
there is plenty of work now with IMF round the corner. all things seem to revolve around it. shoot the sg biennale, finish it and i can reward myself with shooting my CARS project. the film i ordered should be in tomorrow and i can finally shoot some cars!
speaking of which, i should really consider getting into the learn how to drive routine. its been so long after drive and dive 2003, some silly resolution i set back in '03 and i am still 30 dives and no drives.
ha
well, life is rich. GOD is good. there is more to come. smile for now, contribute to the 4 million and enjoy being singaporean. the world is watching. its really going to get quite crowded soon in the marina area. very soon.
