Teh O best

EUROPEAN HEART JOURNAL- Tea, no milk. Adding milk to black tea cancels its benefits against heart attackes, reports a new study out of the University of Berlin. Tea contains compounds that help arteries expand, letting blood flow more freely. The women in the study had improved circulation after they drank black tea, but they showed no improvement when the tea was mixed with milk

phew!

recently, i introduced my german friend to tiger beer. been world acclaimed as they claimed, germans can too enjoy the taste of tiger just like us here. being the good singaporean that i am, i also introduced durians to him at about the same time. now, he had gone into an asian grocery in berlin and found both items. he tried tiger. not too bad he says. and immediately i thought. oh shit. i hope he hasn't tried tiger and durian together! he's not going to make it to SIFF if he does. ha.

final finish

january 3. the year started with me passing my final theory. good. so 2 days back i finally got into a driver's seat and had my first driving lesson ever! everything went on well, it poured down so heavily. so on the way back MR LIM said, drive on the other side of the road. i guess, it must be all that good training the system has done to me. i just obeyed though i knew it didnt make sense. the lorry driving towards us must have though that this L plate fellow must be high on something. ha. turned out that MR LIM thought the road we were on was still closed and he could go in any direction he directed. i could almost hear him say "here no government. i government!" phew. good thing we came back in one piece.

the next big thing

i thought its the size of a psp when i first saw the ad. then i went to the website. the video clearly showed how small the mylo is in comparison to the hands. ooh la la.

all the free wireless all around town is getting me excited. so i was looking for the right device for this but its too early for anything out in the market for my liking. this was of course before i saw the mylo. short for My Life Online, i believe its going to be the next big thing after the ipod. way bigger than the psp. way cooler. this things are all so PC. so what's mac going to do next?

kudos to the new mac ads

these guys are my heroes all over again!

now, in motion, in real voices. very cool stories from the famous photographers themselves.

so i was on my way home. in the last stretch, right just before haig apartments, a woman walked towards me. i had a glance at her. she did the same. its denise. denise tan! so i bumped into my ex-classmate. she told me she's been back and working as a vet. that was quite a bit to handle for a moment. then she hits me on my shoulder going "wah! what happened to you, you put on weight ah." then i thought to myself how that was no longer news and then i replied, "hey, you are a girl!"

haha. you are talking about denise tan, the tomboy who just called herself black cat, the basketballer who had issues. she is so girlie now. and yes, she is no longer just denise. she is dr. tan. hahaha. cool man. i got to check out if i have a picture of the black cat from before.

:D

visit the opera house all over again.

this is damn

cool!

es'cue me, are you a model?

so ya. what's next? been wanting to shoot some babes. work with models. shoot some fashionable shots. sound so hum sup isn't it? it hasn't happen earlier since i can't bare the idea of having some gay man tell me how to take my pictures. so i thought i might be able to take a different route. strangely, when it comes to local photography, the household names are just those few photographers who attained celebrityhood, out of which, i dare say shoot fashion mostly or are known to be fashion photographers.

so what do i do? i have a dream. perhaps i might become a household name someday without having to be a fashion photographer. anyhows, i shoot fashion stuff too but i am not a fashion photographer.

what's next?

"kitsch katsch! kitsch catsch!" she just couldn't stop saying that. this brazilian model meant to say kit kat, as she went balistic when saw it at the candy bar. she said it so much, its the only thing that got stuck to my mind. i can't even remember her name now.

it made me think of what i might go balistic for. i woke up this morning with considerable drama at home at my mum's. that made me think about my plans for my future. and so the question, what would i do next that will make me go "kitsch katsch!" what do i want my life to be like in 5 years time, in 10 years? interestingly, i was asked the same question 2 days earlier.

after came and i was just reflecting on the need of getting a car in singapore and i followed that by asking ernie his take on owning one here in singapore.

but what will i do next? what comes after singapore uniquely? walking home in that heavy rain this afternoon reminded me how i would like to shoot the rain again. put on my rain coat and a mini little ixus, i will be ready to photograph in the rain.

i remember that i have a GOD to turn to for all this. they are not worries. just good thoughts to reflect on and as some religious types might put it- to meditate upon these things. i shall ask for directions, and thank GOD for his abundant blessings.

drive

just can't resist the change. upgrade to the new blogger (beta). its fun. it works for programming idiots like me. visual design. its great! technology has made so many things accessible to the common people. this reminds me of how photography was always expensive until kodak made a cool little camera so everyone could own one. perhaps steve jobs had that same vision when he thought it will be cool that every household should own at least one personal computer. now, even blog programming is for computer illiterates like me. wonderful!

life's been a little crazy around here since i have been trying to create "art" with this singaporeuniquely thing. since i have decided to shoot the subaru impreza wrx challenge, i havent stop shooting cars. after that came the annual motorshow and then some cool uncle taxi driver who zhng his car or rather cab to look like a KTV disco/karaoke ride. and the latest of them all is the honda car club stream meet up at kallang car park. yes, i now agree with randy, i too wonder why i do this things.

having seen all this cars, i figure its time for me to get one for myself. i have starting planning my route there. so, late last week, i decided to make myself a member of the comfort driving centre. i should be well aquainted withthe advance/ final theories and come the new year, i will pass the test and ready to roll. alright man!

i was never interested in cars until now. i guess i fancy bigger wheels to carry my gear around than my silly trolley bag which i walk up and down my old walk up apartment when there's a mega shoot. i too fancy the idea of not bringing this stuff up and down the walk up any more.

cool. lets hope car prices continue dropping.

rules of thirds

its late and i cant sleep. this usually happens when i have some really strong tea at dinner.
so what do i do? some DVD to clear perhaps.

sometimes i read the daily devotion from church. sometimes i check out the car websites. not so much to look at what there is to buy, more like "dude you need a license first". i get motivated better with seeing what is to come first. reverse engineering works for me.

its also good time to catch up on some locoroco on the PSP.
read a bit of the murakami i started awhile back.
some bits of the bible routine to complete reading in a year.

lost 2 is on now on AXN. i am just totally lost at whats the story's about, the whole rave about it.
nip/tuck, house and 24 works for me better. maybe a bit of the 4400.

now, i really wish we have more than 24 hours a day.

so, the question is why does 60 seconds make a minute, 60 minutes and hour and 24 hours make a day.
and so what if 24 makes a day. sleeping a third of the day keeps us functioning better the other two thirds.
how does that work out? giving up one third to resting the body so that the other two thirds of our lives
could function properly. hmm. we work another third away and it certainly doesnt feel like there is a third
left to do whatever we fancy doing. does that add up?

life-sleep one third+work one third= all extra cirriculum one third

hmm. all extra cirriculum one third

do i really want to play locoroco, murakami, shoot cars, play with my cameras, see girlfriend, see mum and dad, eat, watch movie, write a blog, try to exercise, look at cars, feed the cat, chase clients who hasnt paid for ridiculously long time...
etc...

no wonder they say life is short.
i am happy though. i hope i can archieve more in life.
funny thing how that doesnt work in GOD's economy. perhaps i should give it a shot.

"Dear GOD, let me not do this by my own strength. i know i can't save enough in time for my wedding, for my car, my house and all that. i thank you for your providence. ps: i like a new tooth as well. would you fill that hole please. thank you Jesus."
