what kind of mother is her

it all seemed natural for his mother to do what she did when pharaoh ordered all male jewish babies to be killed.
the bible says she got a papyrus basket for him and put it among the reeds along the bank of the nile.
having seen the prince of egypt, my memory of it has always been moses floating away in the basket down the nile.
so when i read this again this evening, it daunted on me. what mother would do this to a child??? she must have a lot
of faith in that basket. well, its got to be GOD she has faith on.

then i asked GOD this same question: what mother would let her child float away in the river.

no i didnt hear a loud voice from above. reading further down, he reviewed it to me when i read the sentences carefully.

moses' sister had stood in a distance to see what would happen to him.
and so, it just so happen that pharaoh's daughter went down by the river for a bath
and saw the baby in the basket among the reeds. "this is one of the hebrew babies" she said.
she must have known what her father has ordered to be done to the jewish boys.

and reading the next verse, i got it. it says

7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?"

"his sister", moses' sister must have popped out from a distance to ask her if she could get one of the hebrew women to nurse the baby for her. hmm.

the girl must have been there for a purpose.

and of course, been the nice daughter of pharaoh that she is, she said yes!
and in the following verses GOD answered my question.

8 "Yes, go," she answered. And the girl went and got the baby's mother. 9 Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you." So the woman took the baby and nursed him.

the girl, meaning moses sister who was checking him out from a distance, went and got the baby's mother!
this is beginning to sound like a plot to me. she must have thought of this. she even got the compassionate pharaoh's daughter to have "ownership" of the baby boy for she asked the baby's mother to nurse him for her, and what's best
is she will pay the mother of the child to nurse her own baby!

this is really interesting. i must say images in a movie can be misleading. all this while, i thought how silly it was
of the mother to just let the baby go. what if he drown. so, the truth is out. moses' mother didnt let him be left
unattended. his sister was watching him all this while until the pharaoh's daughter had called them together
and reunited them.

GOD is amazing.

hmm. i think i better read the rest of the bible to see if i have other not so right idea of the bible stories.
attached is the excerpt from the bible i read tonight.

THE BIRTH OF MOSES

1 Now a man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman, 2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. 3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. 4 His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.
5 Then Pharaoh's daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it. 6 She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. "This is one of the Hebrew babies," she said.

7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?"

8 "Yes, go," she answered. And the girl went and got the baby's mother. 9 Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you." So the woman took the baby and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, [c] saying, "I drew him out of the water."
